PUBLIC NOTICE

Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program, Inc. hereby provides notice that it intends to apply to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the following transportation projects under section 5310 to serve seniors and individuals with disabilities in Crawford, Grant, Green, Iowa, Lafayette and Richland Counties.

An operating project providing volunteer drivers for door-through-door demand response transit service and, a capital mobility management project increasing collaboration between transportation providers and others in an attempt to form a regional transportation network, individuals or agencies wishing to comment or receive additional information about this application should contact Courtney Messer at 608-923-2326 or [email protected]. Formal comments or requests for additional information must be received in writing or by email 14 days after publication.

LIFT provides rides for people in southwestern Wisconsin that may have temporary or permanent difficulties with transportation. LIFT offers rides to and from locations within a day trip of the resident’s home.

LIFT is for people with no other means of transportation.

Ride service is subject to driver availability.
To schedule a ride, call 608-930-2191, Monday thru Thursday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, or Friday between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm. Rides within Dodgeville are $3 per stop and all rides outside of Dodgeville are $1 per unloaded and loaded mile. If you are travelling a long distance and $1 per mile is cost prohibitive, please call us to see what other options there may be to get you where you need to go at 608-930-2191.

The LIFT fleet includes vehicles equipped for:

  • Ambulatory needs

  • Wheelchair and Mobility Aids accommodation

  • Bariatric passengers

Service is available to residents of:

  • Crawford County

  • Grant County

  • Green County

  • Iowa County

  • Lafayette County

  • Richland County

And communities near to these southwestern Wisconsin counties.

LIFT rides are available to anyone.  LIFT gives priority to:

  • Those with disabilities.

  • Senior Citizens.
