When your landlord agrees to accept WERA to pay for your rent, your landlord agrees to take no action to evict you for late or past due rent during the coronavirus eviction moratorium issued by the federal Centers of Disease Control (CDC).

About WERA:
The Wisconsin Emergency Rental Assistance (WERA) program is funded by the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. These national funds flow from the federal government to the Wisconsin Department of Administration, then to Wisconsin's network of Community Action Agencies to be used to help renters that are experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19. WERA is intended to help Wisconsin renters maintain housing stability during the coronavirus pandemic, including support with critical utilities.
