Home Energy Solutions Program Assistant

Summary: Work with the Program Director and other support staff to ensure programs run smoothly for both staff and participants. Completes application intake, determines program eligibility, tracks workflow costs and accurately reports data to fund sources.

  • Processing payments for vendors and suppliers.
  • Recording financial transactions.
  • Reconcile inventory accounts.
  • Customer intake, determining eligibility and file set up.

  • Responding to emails and answering calls.
  • Write and edit documents such as letters and reports as directed.

Previous Experience Required:

Required Licenses or Certifications:

Energy Solutions Lead Technician

Summary: Conducts the installation of weatherization services as indicated on a work order and provides oversight of crew workers on residential homes.

Examples of Duties: The below list is intended as key examples of job duties. The list is not to be taken as defining all possible duties.

  • Install and provide oversite of the installation of insulation in attics, walls, and crawlspaces, sealing air leaks and installing other energy saving products according to a work order.
  • Determines job site work procedures and expedites workflow. Issues instructions to crew workers.
  • Work collaboratively with Auditors, Production Supervisor and Management and consult regularly with job site concerns or suggestions.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and help resolve grievances.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with auditors. Provide feedback on performance of Crew Workers to Management.

Previous Experience Required:

Early Head Start Lead Classroom Teacher

Location: Platteville, WI

Summary: Assists parents in fostering the growth and development of their preschool-age children through home visits, classes, and parent-child activities. Implements Head Start performance standards. Ensures compliance with all WI Daycare Licensing Rules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides required number of home visits, parent/teacher conferences for program option using parent-focused approach.
  • Conducts developmental screenings on enrolled children as needed.

  • Assists Family Service Worker in implementing recruitment plan strategy to recruit families for enrollment and to maintain a waiting list of eligible families. Takes applications and verifies income according to program policies.
  • Participates in all required program activities including, but not limited to staff days, conferences, in-service training, parent activities, program assessment, etc.
  • Maintains all Head Start equipment including computers, cell phones, and vehicles in good working condition in accordance with agency and program policies.
  • Obtains a representative for Head Start Policy Council.
  • Collects in-kind forms according to program policies.  Completes and submits all required paperwork in a timely fashion to the Head Start office.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises 1 to 2 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Successfully completed 1 non-credit WHFS approved course in early childhood or completed within 6 months of hire date.
  • Have a CDA credential or enroll in a CDA program within 30 days of hire. CDA credential must be obtained within 2 years.
  • Or an A.A. degree in Early Childhood or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid WI Driver's License
  • Valid WI CDL License with School Bus Endorsement or willing to obtain within required time frame. Written portion of CDL exam passed within 4 months, driving portion passed prior to expiration of permit. Completion of the CDL Bus Endorsement comes with an increase in pay.

Description: The Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program (SWCAP) operates federally sponsored Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Description: The Head Start program of the Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program (SWCAP) is looking for a classroom substitute to support our Dodgeville classroom. This is a job for someone that appreciates the chance to pick-up work hours without being tied to a fixed, rigid schedule.

Head Start Classroom Substitutes need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • To be willing to let SWCAP run pre-employment background checks.
  • An annual health exam – you’ll need a test for tuberculosis with a negative result prior to hire.

As a Head Start Classroom Substitute, you’ll work with our Head Start Classroom Leads to plan, implement and carry-out lesson plans and developmental activities. You’ll learn about and be involved in activities that help kids develop their skills and learn safe, effective habits. You’ll help kids learn to read, paint pictures with them, sing songs together, and, yes, wipe up some spilled milk from time to time. If you like kids, but need a flexible schedule, this may be a role for you.

Head Start Classroom Substitute - Boscobel

Location: Boscobel, though may be asked to substitute in our Muscoda or Fennimore classrooms.

Department: Head Start

Hours: Part-time, 6 to 8 hour daytime shift when called

Salary: The starting pay rate for Head Start Classroom Substitutes is $14.11 per hour, plus mileage expense reimbursement. Benefits may be available depending on the number of hours worked. When called, Classroom Substitutes work a 6 to 8 hour daytime shift.
